Chocolate Anyone?
I found this cool article from the Field Museum in Chicago that gives a brief history of chocolate. Thought it would be interesting to share with everyone! I bet the Mayans and Aztecs never could have predicted that their "sacred brew" favored by royals would become a confection that people of all ages and cultures enjoy.

I have actually eaten the real chocolate in Teotihuacan (the indigineous people sell it on the street) and its very bitter and not a hint of sweetness, it remided me of coffee.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should thank the Mayans and Aztecs for my chocolate addiction problem?
ReplyDeleteIf you eat the "real" chocolate it actually has nutritional value. But Luisanna is very correct it it very bitter. Trader Joes sells some pretty bitter dark chocolate.
